Why Yoga?

Yoga is a transformative health practice that changes us as individuals and our community as a whole

 

Yoga is a mindfulness-based stress reduction practice that also promotes wellness in various areas of life. Stress has been directly correlated with poor health outcomes and clinical research continues to support the use of yoga practice as a low cost and low maintenance health intervention capable of reducing stress, a significant health risk factor. Research studies have also concluded that moderate and consistent yoga practice has the following health and wellness benefits:

New to Yoga?

If you’re thinking about trying yoga, you're in good company. The practice continues to grow in popularity, ranking #7 on the American College of Sports Medicine’s 2020 fitness trends. However, yoga is MUCH more than a trendy way to exercise. Yoga is about turning your focus inward, finding your point of stillness and reshaping how you respond to the outer world.  


Although the images you may have seen on Instagram and other spaces make yoga seem intimidatingly hard, it doesn't have to be. You don’t need to be flexible, or have a specific body type or fitness level to practice. ALL BODIES ARE YOGA BODIES!


Resilient Yoga is an inclusive community of yogis that vary in age, background and health status. No fear. YOU are welcome here.

 Community Yoga Practices build stability and flexibility in body and mind while empowering people to face everyday stress and life challenges with resilience through yoga exercise, breath work, intention setting meditation and other self-care techniques.


Low and no cost yoga practices are offered online, in community centers, schools, college campuses, art centers, churches, parks, small businesses and other community spaces throughout the Indianapolis area as well as online for students practicing with us around the world.
